Spiritual Wellness – Mind, Body, Spirit, Soul

By Pamela Martin

One of the main activities of our day is communication. Whether it is via WhatsApp, DM, email, mobile phone or face to face, communication takes up an enormous portion of our day. Experts say we speak an average of 7,000 words a day, but the question is, ‘What are we saying?’

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 18:21 ‘Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.’ In other words, if you speak positively, you will reap positive results, but if you speak negatively, you will reap negative results. In this age of communication, it is more important than ever that your words uplift and encourage, and that you cultivate positive self-talk, but, most importantly, that you speak words of gratitude to God. It can be as simple as telling God three things that you are grateful for before you leave the house each day. Speaking words of gratitude causes the mind to shift gears, allowing positive energy to flow.

God created the entire world through the spoken word so just imagine what beauty you can create by using your voice. Be encouraged today; you are capable of wonderful things. I choose to speak life over you so speak it over yourself, and over others.
